Description
A lug sole usually means a heavy boot. The Eloise takes that shape and builds it properly, in black suede, so the ruggedness is a look rather than a burden.
The suede is water-resistant and the inside is lined with shearling, which is the warmth. An inside zipper handles getting in and out, so the boot never has to be wrestled with at the door. The heel measures 1.5” on a 1” platform, and the shaft stands 7” with an 11.5” circumference. Underneath, a durable rubber outsole cut for grip. Made in Italy.
This is the boot for the bad half of the year, when the pavement is wet and the day still involves being seen. It sits under a straight jean or a heavy trouser, and the sole does the work that a smart boot cannot. Warmth first, but not at the cost of the outfit.
