Description
The Amata borrows from two shoes at once: the shape and sensibility of a loafer, the slip-on ease of a sneaker. In ecru, it reads soft rather than sporty.
Suede covers the outside, shearling lines the inside, and the two work against each other in the best way, smooth over warm. The heel measures 1.5" and sits on a 0.6" platform, which keeps the foot level instead of tipping it forward. A rubber outsole handles the ground. Made in Italy. Two honest notes from the maker: it runs small, so take a half size up, and slight dye transfer can happen with the darker colours during the first few wears.
This is a between-seasons shoe, for the weeks when a boot is too much and a sandal is optimistic. Wear it with cropped trousers and bare ankles indoors, or thick socks when the floor is cold. It goes on at the door in one motion, which is most of its appeal.
