Description
Small details change a shoe more than big ones do. On the Nettie, it is a polished criss-cross buckle sitting on the shaft of an otherwise plain black bootie.
The upper is water-resistant leather and the toes are smooth almonds, which is the softest shape a boot can have without going round. Block heels give 1.7” of comfortable lift, and the shaft stands 5” with a 10.5” circumference, closing just above the ankle bone. A rubber outsole runs below. Made in Italy.
The buckle deserves to be seen, so wear the hem above it: jeans cuffed once, or a midi that ends mid-calf and leaves the whole boot visible. It is a boot with one good idea on it, which is generally better than a boot with four.
